about Austin Lynn Austin
Having made creative encampments in London, New York, Los Angeles, Prague, Vienna and Buenos Aires, Austin’s dynamic work is reflective of his extensive practical and life experience. After spending his adolescence absorbed in cinema, Austin chose to pursue his love of music. At the age of twenty-two, his band was signed by Fiction/Polydor Records and toured throughout Europe and North America. By his mid twenties, Austin was an accomplished musician, sitting in on recordings for The Cure. Austin began documenting his explorations with music videos and experimental films thoughout this time.
In New York City, Austin and the artist Marilyn Minter created her first experimental video, Green Pink Caviar. The video went on to exhibit at MOMA in New York City as well as several other galleries and museums internationally. Most recently, Austin’s beauty, fashion and commercial work has earned him commissions from companies such as Estee Lauder, M.A.C Cosmetics and La Mer.
